Dr. Ana Elizabeth Dias

Dr. Ana Elizabeth Dias, our Dental Surgeon, is a native of Veracruz, Mexico, but having a Jamaican father, she exercises the right to dual citizenship. In 2006, she graduated from the School of Dentistry at the Superior Institute of Medical Sciences of Santiago de Cuba. Upon completion of dental school, she decided to return to Jamaica to give service here. In 2006, she joined the public service as a dental intern at the Kingston Public Hospital. In July 2007, she was appointed as Grade 1 resident dentist to the Kingston & St. Andrew Health Department (part of the South East Regional Health Authority). At this time, she also joined private practices as an associate. For 6 years, she practiced dentistry as an associate in various locations throughout the parishes of St. Thomas, Kingston & St. Andrew, St. Catherine and St. Ann. In May 2012, she went into private practice full-time.

After almost 10 years of practicing dentistry as an Associate Dentist in a number practices, she found that the quality of care unfortunately, was not paramount. In Jamaica, much too often the standard of care in dentistry is not being defined as it should, by laws, regulations, professional ethics, and ideals. As such, she believed that the time was right for her to open her own dental practice that would uphold her vision for dentistry.

Her emphasis is in General dentistry, i.e. restorations, prophylaxis, root canal treatments, oral surgery, teeth whitening, crowns, bridges, dentures, implants and cosmetic dentistry. Since graduating from University, she has spent numerous hours on continuing education to further her dental expertise.

In May 2010, she was awarded a certificate in Basic Implant Dentistry from the Atlantic Dental Implant Seminars (ADIS), an affiliate of the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics and the Linkow Implant Institute of the Caribbean (LIIOC). In December 2011, she was appointed Clinical Director of ADIS and the LIIOC. In April 2012, she completed a Residency Course in Dental Implantology with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). In September of that same year, she became a Fellow of the ICOI. In 2014, she completed a Fellowship in Oral Surgery with the Oral Surgery Academy for General Dentists. In 2018, she received a Certificate in Contemporary Aesthetic and Implant Dentistry from the University of Minnesota.

Dr Dias is an active member of the Jamaica Dental Association (JDA), the American Dental Association (ADA) and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI).
